Join us for the 29th Annual Building Bridges Conference, where we will explore topics of importance to our discipline area.
This year's theme:
Writing the Wave of Change in Academia
Building Bridges provides college and high school English, ESL, and reading teachers opportunities to connect with publishers and colleagues, attend breakout sessions on a wide range of topics, and share teaching successes with each other.

Topic Suggestions: Reading Strategies, Technology in the Classroom, OER, Dual Enrollment, Grading Essays Online/Paperless, Literacy, Growth Mindset
Additional Suggestions: First-Year Experience, Basic Skills, English-as-a-Second-Language, Technology in the Classroom, Responding to Papers, Teaching Research, Reading Rhetorically, Critical Thinking, Learning Disabilities, Coping with Student Attitudes, or any topic related to teaching composition, literature, or ESL. Panel presentations, especially with faculty from other campuses, are well-received by BBC participants.
As in years past, we know that we will have superb presentations by outstanding presenters--faculty from our campuses. If you have an idea for a group or individual presentation on a topic relevant to the teaching of composition, ESL, and literature, please submit your proposal to the planning committee for consideration.
